Snarky Puppy Live Recording @ the Lab

Snarky Puppy, the best urban jazz band in Brooklyn, maybe the world.  This past week, they recorded their 2nd live DVD release in our ShapeShifter Lab, and it truly lived up to its name, easily accommodating the 22- piece band and its headphone-jacked audience.

Snarky Puppy, led by visionary Michael League, is comprised of drums, bass, guitars, horns, strings, pianos, synths, and everything in between.  It was truly a majestic sight to behold, flattered by the hung-light industrial living room vibe of the space.  The only thing more impressive was the music, taking equal parts funk, jazz, rock, pop, and even latin.  The band rolled seamlessly through the 2 hour sets, creating sonic landscapes that I can only describe as journeys.  The audience, surrounded by the factions of the band, was plugged into headphones to experience the full effect, and by the end of the show everyone was mesmerized and begging for more.

Their DVD  will be released on 28th February, 2012!
