George Winstone Quartet

October 1, 2021

9pm

The music tonight will be George’s own compositions written over the last few years, including material to be released on an upcoming album. The music is a combination of contemporary straight ahead with strong classical music influences coloring the sound.

Composers like Rachmaninov and Scriabin’s influence are felt. Meanwhile the rhythmic roots of the music are undoubtedly from the Black American musical tradition.

George’s aspiration for the music is to be strongly emotional, creative, and spiritual. Expect virtuosic intensity from all band members.
